We are delighted to have been nominated for the Constructing Excellence SECBE award for Building Project of the Year. The nomination is for a project we’re hugely proud of – the St Nicholas SEN School in Croydon.
The Project of the Year category focused on projects which have delivered outstanding outcomes for all those involved in the construction.
Collaboration and coordination can overcome even the most daunting challenges. This project was complex on paper but by taking the time to carefully plan, pooling knowledge across the supply chain and using technology to coordinate teams, our works at St Nicholas flowed smoothly in practice.
The project involved constructing a new 4FE school building on the site of the existing primary school to create additional student capacity and make way for new, improved facilities. The existing school needing to remain operational throughout the construction sequence combined with the site’s steep terrain, restricted vehicular access and perimeter of protected trees, meant that the works’ success relied on exemplary planning, ingenuity and collaborative working practices.
We are thrilled to have had this hard work recognised with this nomination and look forward to the awards ceremony on 1st July!
